Smart shopping awareness

lyrics

Monologue: One time I saw this advertisement for H&M, and it said, “Are you ready to do some serious shopping?” And I was like, dang, yes I am—and I couldn’t have asked a better question myself. Though they didn’t mean what I took it to mean—you’ll see what I mean. ‘Cause if you, too, wanna do some serious shopping, it sure as heck better be these questions that you’re droppin’!

Was it made near under fair conditions?
Sustainable production, minimal emissions?
Was it made of oil, either palm or crude?
If you know it is, you shouldn’t by that, DUDE!
When you’re done with it, where’s it gonna go?
Take it back to the shelf if you really don’t know.
Besides my room is full of stuff and I’m getting kind of fat,
So the best question is: DO I REALLY NEED THAT?

(SMART SHOPPERS IN THE HOUSE!)

Do we really need that, do we really need that?
No, better go before I buy the whole store!
Do we really need that, do we really need that?
No, because I don't know exactly where it's gonna go!
Do we really need that, do we really need that?
No, because the people paid their lives to make the prices low!
Do we really need that, do we really need that?
No, because the science show the atmosphere don't want no more!
Do we really need that--
Smart shoppers in the house!
