Sink and Rise
04:27
|
|||
I don't want to sink to the bottom
But I don't mind sinking with you
Life will float us clear to the surface
Riding undercurrents of truth
I thought I'd rather fly in the sky so high
But that was never part of the game
Until you said you'd swim in the sea with me
Well, now the rules have totally changed
Sink to the bottom with you
Rise on a current of truth
Flying high was never the game
With you the rules have completely changed

Shake the Sky
03:18
|
|||
Yesterday evening we were screamin’
and ready to kill
all these blind bastards just for breathin’
and honking until
A man on a rickshaw started singin’
(we'll take what we get).
Like Esperanza, now we're weepin’
in the midst of these bricks.
Something lovely grows loud around me...
Shake the sky, you hundred violins!
Someday I'll be free of me, and I'll jump right out of my skin.
I starts to begin...
Shake the sky, you hundred violins!
Someday I'll be free of me, and I'll jump right out of my skin.
I starts, then it ends...
Coconut palm fronds: great green feathers,
the roof for a pile
of cats on a hot tin roof (they're playing
and making me smile).
Their cradle is secret like the barbet's
on top of the palm:
he makes a tok-tok-tok for no one,
and it's making me calm.

Ships and Sequins
03:44
|
|||
In crepuscular light,
when the sphinx moths set things right,
you in dew-tainted air thought you might give up the fight
'til we both sang to the night:
Send the ships and the sequins down 'til they drown.
Find some ropes and some whales and sound--
we're chuckin' the shrouds, we're singin' all the gods down.
When they fall phosphorescence bounds
across the bay
where we sit hand in hand and lay
our heads on the sand--we're laughing up at the day.
When we sing that long song,
hibiscus, coconut palms
curl from out of thin air and multiply until dawn--
a cushion of right against wrong.

Trempe ton pain, Marie
04:11
|
|||
Trempe ton pain, Marie
Trempe ton pain, Marie
Trempe ton pain dans la sauce
Trempe ton pain, Marie
Trempe ton pain, Marie
Marie, trempe ton pain dans le vin
Nous irons dimanche
À la maison blanche
Toi en nankin, moi en bazin
Tous deux en escarpins
Le long de la Seine
Allons à Suresnes
Pour manger des gâteaux
Et pour voir passer les petits bateaux
